Familiar Spirit

Do you ever sit in a coffee shop just waiting?
Waiting for that special someone to come along?
 
I always give people the benefit of the doubt.
Always giving that special one authoritarian control.
 
I’m not so sure you want to make the time to be in my life anymore.
You sure came on strong, referring to me as your friend even. Now I’m the enemy.
 
But I do have needs. I’m sure we all do. Even you.  
You were indeed needy. I could tell.  
 
I’d still like to be your friend.  
Although, I don’t think you’re ready for that kind of friend.  
 
I will continue to wait as I sit and drink my coffee,
Until the next time when that special someone comes along.
 
Maybe the next one will be a courageous soul and stay longer.
Yes, I believe that will happen and sooner than later.
 
I believe in destiny and fate. I’m the free spirit who’s been locked up inside her own head for far too long. Bring it on Rachael romance.  
 
I’ll tell her she’s the ‘one’ and think up a one liner on the spot to start the conversation.
She’ll be impressed and sit down immediately eager to hear more.  
 
We exchange glances as I try not to divulge too much of my true blue womanly passion.
That just means I’m a romantic and hapless when it comes to romance.
 
I encouragingly and teasingly tell this beautiful woman that I have unorthodox human impulses and that I’m truly bisexual looking for a one on one romance and good time companionship.  
 
She smiles and replies openly she’s ‘game’ and we talk for a while more, drinking our coffee and sharing our interests. Soon we lock eyes and decide it’s time to move the conversation to a more intimate setting.
