Outside Looking In

Each time I try to write
That baby calls
It’s a family thing
Whether it be to cook or clean
I’m going to have to hold
This annoyingly tiny person
I’m not in control

I have no will
This girl—a tiny pit bull
Barrels through my god damn bedroom door
I have asthma and allergies
It’s a rule! These things are not allowed in here
Well?

Que country western TV
Hippity hoppity piano music now
My point?
I forgot
Day in the life of a mother.
