The Perfect Storm
Snow is piling up to my windows and it’s not even snowing
Winter is all up in the bedrooms and it’s showing
There are gale forces inside, but outside the wind isn’t blowing
Neighbors don’t venture here, they are all in the knowing
Nor’Easter, this is where the perfect storm came and lives
Conflicting weather fronts because no one wants to say “I give”
Where does the wind blow when high pressure can’t find a low pressure zone
Back to back sleeping on your side of the bed, all alone
Lying there listening to the sleet as it pelts the window pane
One of us should try to light a fire, but who would try that again
The last time a tornado came down the chimney and threw stuff everywhere
Dishes were broken, pots and pans tossed, it even turned over a favorite chair
The anger comes in waves like a tsunami moving in from sea
Compromise isn’t even an option Mother Nature has never been this angry
Two carrier vessels being sucked downward into hates maelstrom
Only for a waterspout to spit us out so that misery can have some
There wont be an El Nino visiting this year, his parents have been warned
Of the dangers of him freezing due to conditions created by the perfect storm
Water ways changed course for selfish reasons
Entire coastlines eroded and accusing the ocean of treason
With all of this pain lying around, there should had been spontaneous combustion
Oceans burning non stop due to volcanic eruptions
Water and ash spewed into the air and seen from space
Two stubborn rivers that changed their course, now awake face to face
