WORDS FROM SOCRATES
I was going through some
old notes preparing
a lecture on ancient
philosophy and wisdom
and found this quote
from a lecture years ago
from one of my favorite
philosophers--Socrates:
"I decided that it was
not wisdom that enabled
poets to write their poetry,
but a kind of instinct or
inspiration, such as you
find in seers and prophets
who deliver all their sublime
messages without knowing
in the least what they mean."
Yes, the ancient sage left
us something to think about,
study, and debate.
