Revolution(s)
day breaks and newness fills the air
less of this and more of that
drop ten pounds I'm getting fat
the same each year
a day, a week, a month
then it all just disappears
there is no time for resolution
when time is lost to fear
it's a revolution
a bloodbath of ill proportion
a war between the ears
holding on to indiscretion
knowing no-one really cares
you pick the locks
you loosen the chains
if there is nothing to lose
is there anything to gain
is there a need, a want, a choice
hidden on the other side
of your inner voice
do good, do right
out of mind, out of sight
the window doesn't close when the house burns down
and it's never too late to start
to turn your life around
less of this and more of that
drop ten pounds I'm getting fat
the same each year
a day, a week, a month
then it all just disappears
there is no time for resolution
when time is lost to fear
it's a revolution
a bloodbath of ill proportion
a war between the ears
holding on to indiscretion
knowing no-one really cares
you pick the locks
you loosen the chains
if there is nothing to lose
is there anything to gain
is there a need, a want, a choice
hidden on the other side
of your inner voice
do good, do right
out of mind, out of sight
the window doesn't close when the house burns down
and it's never too late to start
to turn your life around
