To Be One Of Them

I can only imagine
To be one of them.

A pear, amidst tangerines
Butter in margarine.

Look in mirror, reimagine
But not the same, left with ugliness.

My body's lagging
More so than I imagine.

Not a glamorous existence
Baleful, on the margins.

All that's left is poetry ....
.... And pride redemption.
