Stone Soup
Stone Soup
We have
What we have
In this life
To give,
That's
So plainly
Just the way
That it is.
One man's
Junk
Is
Another
Women's
Treasure,
Some see it
Quite rough,
Some see it
For pleasure.
I've had
To make due
With a soup
Made of stones,
Wrestled
My weight
And picked
At the bones,
But
Nothing
Has ever
Made more
An appeal
Than lips
On the spoon
Of a really
Fine meal.
We have
What we have
In this life
To give,
That's
So plainly
Just the way
That it is.
One man's
Junk
Is
Another
Women's
Treasure,
Some see it
Quite rough,
Some see it
For pleasure.
I've had
To make due
With a soup
Made of stones,
Wrestled
My weight
And picked
At the bones,
But
Nothing
Has ever
Made more
An appeal
Than lips
On the spoon
Of a really
Fine meal.
