Alternate reality—Seaside Wanderings

I walked along the beach today remembering you
so many words I cannot say, so many memories through
I cried seeing the beauty, I laughed forgetting the pain
A sad heart beats in me,  sad since you came
into my life one day and in a moment had fled away…
This storm in my mind of near-forgotten images, sensations:
an A-frame…a sunset…
cold crashing waves…
cool sand…bare feet…washing…washing…far far away…

I walked along the beach today…
I cried as sunlight glistened on the waves…
waves rushing, crashing, receding, fleeing
away
I fly away
I kneel to pray for a new day
an old life long gone away…
the beauty—see it here…
& crash away
