Tell me what is ecstasy?
It is my heart in fantasy
Fluttering on an angel’s wing.
I want to hear you sing
Your voice is so pure in song
A song as free as the day is long.
Tell me what is harmony?
It is you when you are next to me.
Next to you, I am always free.
I forget the things I used to be.
I love you more than you know
Please do not go…
Stay and watch our garden grow.
On my wings is a pearl of frozen dew,
And the sunrise is not as beautiful as you.
There is nothing between the sun and skies
Nothing between your breath and my sighs.
Nothing feels like you where you no longer stand
While I hold the absence in my hand.
I am crying, for our sun is gone,
Before the birth of his first dawn.
What lullabies may I have sung
When his earth and sky were young?
I’ll never see home without your eyes
And I do not want to hear your goodbyes
Unless I taste the sweetness of your voice
As my eyes grow moist
With the tears I shed every day on love’s grave.
My friends tell me that I must be brave
But I cannot bear to see you depart,
It breaks my heart…
I am yours forever if you’d only have me,
If you’d only sing and set us free
Where our home is harmony.
