"You will find peace not by trying to escape your problems, but by confronting
them courageously. You will find peace not in denial, but in victory."—J. Donald Walters
i am tempted
to run away and hide:
executed
by stubbornness and pride,
i sit here, like a fool
governed by no fixed rule.
get behind me,
you demons of the dark!
shall you bind me,
from life to disembark,
before the hour of gloom
shall populate my tomb?
hope abundant
blossoms on every breath;
death redundant,
His Bruised Heel underneath.
this day my life i take
from hell's despondent lake.
life is earnest
to him that dies to live,
though immodest
the threats that make him grieve.
where fall the tears he weeps,
the ground swells as he leaps.
