last chance
Luck is always the last refuge of laziness
and incompetence.—James Cash Penney
chances are dances,
when there are plenty,
that leave you empty
as time advances.
one day the rope-fray
becomes your own noose;
no more can you choose
how high to ballet.
last chance is last dance,
then comes the jury,
freedom or fury,
rape of circumstance.
