Sacrifice
“We sacrificed everything for you, Andrew, the private education we struggled to afford, then off to University carrying our love and hopes for your future.
Then you got into drugs. All our hopes for you destroyed.”

Hi Blocat,this is an incredibly moving,2 the nuts and bolts piece of work.
"I turned away,bitter tears flowing. The man put the lid back over him" powerful! It really hits home. Such poignancy.
People forget about the families,(parents),that suffer terribly and are left behind. Sad and angry simultaneously. I'm sorry.

Thank you for your kind comment. It's part of chapter one of a work in progress that I've barely begun. The story continues when a sinister drug dealer turns up at the family home claiming Jason owed him money and he'd transferred the debt plus continuing interest to the parents. it's the story of how two middle-class people are suddenly caught up In the criminal world. They have to learn to deal with these types after the police drop their case through lack of evidence.
