Rains

it rains and rains and rains and rains
it rains and rains and pours
evaporated ocean's breath
is keeping us indoors

splish and splash as droplets crash
onto the window panes
onto the leaves now on the ground,
autumn's soaked in rains

dark and cloudy skies of grey
and in the air between
haze and mist while water kissed
condense into a stream

flowing down, along and on
with drips that fall to merge
from under eaves and too from trees
it seems we're on the verge

of rain and rain and pouring rain
for days and days and days
one thing we know in certainty
the rain it never stays
