Silence to Silence

I do not recall if I thought much about death,
then.

But then again,
I have always been -

Infused in shadow,

Having always said:
I brought something back from the other side
from that catastrophic ride

ending in critical condition.

It was all my decision,
to almost die,
to travel down that road into the unknown:

To see:

Fate & or destiny.

To hold a candle to the canvas of that painting
collapsed in colors of the prosaic.

It was my decision.

I remember what it felt like to ride
in a car after;

It was like a roller coaster
headed for disaster, faster.

And the light,

O the light

Beaming streaming bright
out of sight

Technicolor over the senses
just right

But this light,
in contrast -

Comes with companion darkness
and knowledge of the places

We go

To die

And see the extinguished trinity
[Heart, Mind, Soul]

One after the other

From silence to silence.
