Same storm, different day

My life is a mess and I am so stressed.
Here are a few things that I need to confess.

I’m dealing with with depression like a storm cloud hanging above my head.
I try so hard only to fail,
I was enduring the rain when it started to hail.

You and I used to be like two birds of a feather,
But now your words cause more damage then the weather.

You pleaded with me to instill my trust,
And so I did.
You lent me an umbrella temporarily,
You traded it for a knife that you stuck deep inside of me.
So where do I begin?

I’ll start out by saying I was in love with you,
Despite the knife in my back.
I care about you.

Oh by the way did I mention the fact,
 that I stood by you,
Spent all my time hopin,
That you’d make through.
Spent most of my days sitting in a pew.
Praying to god that you’d be ok.

It was always the same storm but a different day.
