Without Desceit

All that she has ever been arrived fully formed today. I traced my finger above her eyes and saw her younger when the magic of October air first made her dizzy. She danced beneath yellowing oaks and tumbled to the earth in celebration of all that her flesh could feel?

She smiles now, while peeking down at the threshold we cross. Her flesh spreads for my good pleasures as she whispers, “Come now and touch my animal treasures.”

We burn together, presenting all of our lives as ransom, wholly pure and without deceit.

Author's Note
I saw a young couple playing in fall leaves before disappearing into the girl's house. This is what I imagined.
