Sculpted in Bronze
I got the copper
from my mother
evolving naturally
in ore and dirt
a phenomenon
born in pink-orange
when buffed
polished and shined
quite breathtaking
when threatened
she pulls moisture
from air to oxidize
and protect herself
A metal mineral
prescription for protection
of one's soul
from corrosion
I got tin from my
father who lathers
in resistance from age
Never one to
corrode or oxidize
as well as
light and pliable
He shines a silver glare
that does not fade
Also named after the
Etruscan God Tinia
Their marriage
of metallurgy
in 3300 BC
gave birth to me
Pictographic writing
soon followed
and evolved
I'm still here
uncorrupted
by time
Civilization has
progressed and
I'm still here
Strong in bronze
Fusing with poetry
Precious metal words
that have been sculpted
chiseled and carved
a combination of
alloyed phrases being
smelted together
to mold pictures
and engrave emotions
A casted bible of poems
shaped by god
sculpted in bronze
from my mother
