When the Walls Come Down
It used to be much easier
To forgive than to forget.
Even when the walls
Came tumbling down around us;
I’d still pick up the pieces;
Praying my tears would fuse them
Back together,
But now there are too many cracks.
We are broken.
Our love reduced to a pile of rubble.
Where are you?
I need you to help me
But you’re gone….again.
Hope crushed one too many times.
Don’t come back.
I won’t forgive you.
To forgive than to forget.
Even when the walls
Came tumbling down around us;
I’d still pick up the pieces;
Praying my tears would fuse them
Back together,
But now there are too many cracks.
We are broken.
Our love reduced to a pile of rubble.
Where are you?
I need you to help me
But you’re gone….again.
Hope crushed one too many times.
Don’t come back.
I won’t forgive you.
