Water and Oil

Trying to understand why I feel this way is difficult.
But, I can't deny that your presents effects me like a catapult.
By that I mean you bring me forward and make me feel strong.
Like I'm fighting a battle- a battle that is wrong.
Wrong because not everyone gets it.
Not everyone understand.
But then again if they did that means we would have to be more than friends.
Which is something I long for yet don't think I could handle.
However, I'd grip it and hold on for dear life like a flame to a candle.
Assuming I got the chance to give us a try.
I wish so greatly that the world was blind.
That way I could gain the courage I lack because of mankind.
Forbidden love has always intrigued society.
I'm beginning to think if Romeo and Juliet could make it work why can't we?
Oh, because you have the courage that I lack immensely.
The world doesn't scare you instead it scares me.
You laugh at their standards and only see what's true.
You are what I am not; therefore, I need you.
I trust one day I'll get the spine the say what I feel.
More than that though, I hope you are here still.
