Failed Poet

Metaphor upon mystery
Meaning veiled beneath cloaks of mist
Spun in shadowy threads of a story
Re-writing tales of mispercieved history
Worst nightmares realized in clarity
That poetry is simply misunderstood vagueries
of analogies twisted in pretzeline similies
Peeing the metaphorical bed that I made
on a matress of nails piercing flesh where I laid
Yet when the real pain of life becomes too much experience
My heart goes silent and my quill will not drip
Not a drop of ink can express this thing
This monster, this madness, this puzzling scene
Unknowable knowns of philosopher's dreams
Are but ponderances best put to sleep
This is the essence of a fossilized me
Found in a cave next to a diary of dead poetry
