I'll Gladly Burn Vampires
I bet
you like red
because it's the color of pain
I bet
she wears red
to hide the blood
from your hands
I bet
you like red
for the violence
that runs through your head
And I bet
the red on her lips
reminds you not of sin
but the blood that will run
from the tongue
you'll cut from her face
When she speaks
when she realizes once more
she's a person and not your whore
not a toy for you to mistreat
So she bled
and you laughed
you don't love the color
for it's simple pleasure
but for the way you felt power
when you put her to her death
you like red
because it's the color of pain
I bet
she wears red
to hide the blood
from your hands
I bet
you like red
for the violence
that runs through your head
And I bet
the red on her lips
reminds you not of sin
but the blood that will run
from the tongue
you'll cut from her face
When she speaks
when she realizes once more
she's a person and not your whore
not a toy for you to mistreat
So she bled
and you laughed
you don't love the color
for it's simple pleasure
but for the way you felt power
when you put her to her death
