Beyond eclipses of the burning trees—
Blackened by suns of unconscious seas—
An isle in my eyes that close upon the blue
Of a sky darkened without the light of you.

I swore the door never would open, again,
I turned to leave—departing in vain.
There is no dream, only haze and walls
Where the tear of a wingless slumber falls.

What follows when I die with the sun?
Surely it must shine for someone
Who I call with the kiss I cannot give,
While my entombėd shadows walk with his.

I weep not to fill my heart with your flowers,
But to bleed the color of your stars,
For nothing of the sky shall remain
If I never see you, to love you, again.

Kiss me not! Thy lips are for sweeter roses.
And now, as twilight on my slumber closes—
Opens the prison door—in my own eyes
And there is no time, only our goodbyes.

Too late the sunrise fills my heart,
For now, the skies rest, and souls depart,
And now, a world of darkness ensue
For never again can I say how I love you.
