Just Like the Movies

A  lover's moon
blew kisses from heaven
its gentle strokes of wonder
painted our bodies silver
as we lay gazing at the stars

A warm wind
from the mountain
carried jasmine
murmured to the shoreline
and conjured waves
that sparkled and danced

A moment
when you and I
were the first and the last
the only ones
who knew the secret
of a universe together
understanding
we would never be apart

A time when
all the madness of the world
didn't matter
daring to dream
with young love in our eyes
and fresh hopes in our hearts

Too bad it didn't last.
