The Other Side of it
I am
who I am
As I am
I do however
Live in a world
with others
In all that I do
I just do me
I follow my own path
What I have realized however
Is that the other side of this
Is that you intimidate people
You aren't responsible
for the feelings of others
However it doesn't feel good
To learn that you make others uncomfortable
It's a love hate thing
In the sense that
One must never dumb themselves down
Yet there are genuine people
Who still feel small
You can't help everyone
but that doesn't mean
you shouldn't wish them well
Being different can easily lead to loneliness
Imagine out of all the people in the world only a few really get you
You're not a run of the mill person
So it's hard to connect with just anyone
On a true deep level
Though you may interact
You are still left longing
Yet somehow it will all pay off
All those moments alone
Will work out
You don't need much
So endure
Overcome
You were never malicious
So don't fret when you're prosperous
Live
Learn
Just be you

A timely reminder that people only see what they want to see; which is primarily based upon their own conditionings & limitations, rather than see beyond their own confined perimeters…

We do still live in a society where conforming is easier than being yourself. It's really not beneficial but in those early stages of following your own path, one may feel lonely because it's as if you're on your own. I think overtime you find the people that truly value you for you, with any agenda. So in those years when people try and peoject onto you, this piece is just a remind to stay on your self chosen path.

I liked the message within this poem. While not easy it’s worth realizing who we are and then being okay with who we are. I think we’re all good, quirky perhaps, but good. I guess that’s what wisdom is for. I really like the feeling of growth and peace in this poem. H🌷

Yes it's an empathic look at the saying 'does an elephant worry about what it steps on?' You used the word quirky and many people fear showing this side to themselves because sticking out isn't as easy as all the motivational people make it sound. We need to be ourselves at the end of the day. We can't live in any other way.
