Alien Rescue

God speed to the aliens
who will save us
from our fate
our forests are on fire
I hope they're not too late

The oceans are a desert
and the coral reefs have died
all the fish
have disappeared
their bodies washed up on the tide

In the last remaining jungle
orangutans
stay calm
staring up into the sky
with their babies in their arms

Their leader has a message
to be brave and do not fear
she knows there’ll be no room
for humans
when the aliens appear
