Dark nightmare

Awakening on my tear soaked pillow, I feel the damp around my head, the Sun peeps through my curtains, the night is not long dead

It seems even in my dream like state, I know you cannot stay, I know when the morning comes, you would be gone away

But I've search through my memories, trying to retrieve last night's loving dream, but I can't find it anywhere, not one single scene

Surely you came to me, I dream of you every single night, why can't I remember anything, there's somethings not quite right

Normally you're vivid, your images are always crystal clear, I can feel your body, I always feel you're near

Every night we hold hands, we snuggle in a loving warm embrace, I get to kiss you all night long, I get to gaze upon your pretty face

Then my spring eyes open wide, my pillows nice and dry, its dark outside, I must go back to sleep, to find you I must try

I was so unsettled, to have a single dream without you there, it was quite sad and scary, to have a fleeting dark nightmare
