On Knowing God

You cannot know God
By reading about Him
Or talking about Him.

Listen Dearest Pilgrim.

By reading or talking about food -
Is your hunger appeased?

So -

Your hunger to know the Friend
Will only be appeased when you
Experience Him within your own self
Through meditation on His
Inner light and sound.

So tonight -

Why not invite Him to be your guest
Inside your own secret garden
Deep within your heart.

I am sure He will bring
A bottle or two of His best wine
So you both can get drunk together.
