Lasting memory lives    
in the song    
of slapping dough  
and the golden  
curves    
   
   
that rise

To prevent sticking    
and ideas of bitterness —  
grease the wheels,    
encouraging    
   
forward    
   
p e r p e t u a l  
   
motion

Those eyes glaze    
skin prickles    
in promised decadence    
   
hand in hand    
   
to stir  
and whisk.

When it's the sound    
of hooves,    
the breadth  
of insinuation boils

Nights ache,    
roll[ing]    
                     one

                                             another
