Golden Cages and Broken Dolls
Stupid ceremony and so much recompense
Apologies falling from my mouth
I wanted to be yours so badly
I just can't shake these thoughts
Is marriage really just a golden cage...
I'm not a bird here for I've never had wings
Just a Patchwork doll with busted seams
Left feeling like a doll dragged through icy water
Pushing needles into my skin just to keep going
Twisting them to make sure I bleed
Where would I even go if I were to leave
Marriage solves so many problems in life
He tells me he'll take care of me forever
But is marriage just the lock pinning me in place?
I sit in front of the mirror and see my reflection
I'm just too sick to run from this good thing
Golden cages... Marriage... Loving you forever
It can all seem like too much sometimes
But what do I know... I'm just needle full doll
Apologies falling from my mouth
I wanted to be yours so badly
I just can't shake these thoughts
Is marriage really just a golden cage...
I'm not a bird here for I've never had wings
Just a Patchwork doll with busted seams
Left feeling like a doll dragged through icy water
Pushing needles into my skin just to keep going
Twisting them to make sure I bleed
Where would I even go if I were to leave
Marriage solves so many problems in life
He tells me he'll take care of me forever
But is marriage just the lock pinning me in place?
I sit in front of the mirror and see my reflection
I'm just too sick to run from this good thing
Golden cages... Marriage... Loving you forever
It can all seem like too much sometimes
But what do I know... I'm just needle full doll
