Song to Sing
Truthfully, I sing with a new triumph
Down the aisles of mundane living
With the vigor of all my angels in my lungs.
but you hear the tantalizing call of all your darkest fantasies
Truthfully, my smile is brighter these days
And my laughter rings through the darkness
With a light from deep within my soul.
but you still see dead eyes in the mirror that scream for help
Truthfully, I resisted the temptations thus far
Pushed onward seeing the smile on my daughter's face...
My, how she's grown!
all you've proven to be is a wretched failure
Truthfully... Know what?
Fuck you...
Mississippi summer is hot enough
Without marching back to the doors of hell.
Get thee hence from me, thou crystal devil...
And take my demons with you.
Down the aisles of mundane living
With the vigor of all my angels in my lungs.
but you hear the tantalizing call of all your darkest fantasies
Truthfully, my smile is brighter these days
And my laughter rings through the darkness
With a light from deep within my soul.
but you still see dead eyes in the mirror that scream for help
Truthfully, I resisted the temptations thus far
Pushed onward seeing the smile on my daughter's face...
My, how she's grown!
all you've proven to be is a wretched failure
Truthfully... Know what?
Fuck you...
Mississippi summer is hot enough
Without marching back to the doors of hell.
Get thee hence from me, thou crystal devil...
And take my demons with you.
