I Was a Good-Natured Klutz
It all started out so slowly
And her pastimes sometimes included me
And I was, don’t get me wrong, grateful for it
Sky & clouds, waving us in
Like a fresh start at eternity
And she rolled on our blanket
It could have been hers
It could have been mine
I really don’t remember
But she did it so nice
Like she’d been practicing
And I knew she hadn’t
It just came naturally, for her
And I knew it
And recognized how complete she was
Tho she herself found arguments against it
And I adored her all the same
Coz I couldn’t help it
And whether she knew or not
All those spells around her
Mostly if not all hers
And we had very little say in it
Once they were set free
Spells & amazing grace & such
And her pastimes sometimes included me
And I was, don’t get me wrong, grateful for it
Sky & clouds, waving us in
Like a fresh start at eternity
And she rolled on our blanket
It could have been hers
It could have been mine
I really don’t remember
But she did it so nice
Like she’d been practicing
And I knew she hadn’t
It just came naturally, for her
And I knew it
And recognized how complete she was
Tho she herself found arguments against it
And I adored her all the same
Coz I couldn’t help it
And whether she knew or not
All those spells around her
Mostly if not all hers
And we had very little say in it
Once they were set free
Spells & amazing grace & such
