Blessing in Dishes
As a general idea dishes don't stand as one of the top 10 favourite things to do.
I guess in many ways I never understood the true great gift one receive in doing this very small yet pretty nessary task.
On my journey through life I landed myself on a very unpleasant yet surprisingly wonderful place as I came to see.
I was staying under a bridge with some interesting characters and made it my personal task to insure at times that we shared at least one meal together after a long day.
I would take the coffee cans and start preparing the food on the fire and made cutlery from the 2l bottles I collected.
We had bowl cups and plastic knifes and forks which always made for a great dishing eating and just feeling of belonging and family after a hard day trying to survive.
The blessing I want to share from this is once we finished the new cutlery was desposed of and with it at times the memory and feelings of happiness.
While standing at the sink just think for a second how blessed you are to have water a sink, soap and with it those same dishes that holds the memory of every day's time spent with those you love some you don't always like yet they are there not being disposed off.
That small daily task becomes a very beautiful yet much desired and most often unnoticed blessing.
