Ill Fated Lovers
Like a rush gone straight to the head,
Your lips crush mine in a heated frenzy,
Consuming me in a blaze.
In this, I rise and dissipate
Like smoke signals reaching to touch a moonlit sky,
Even on nights where we walk solo.
Split realities that rip into one another
When paths cross
Cannot make a home of each other—
I am an earthquake and you are a tsunami,
And our chaotic love notes are best left
As dust and mist
That will fade back into the core of us
As the destruction left in our wake
Becomes nothing but a fading memory.
Your lips crush mine in a heated frenzy,
Consuming me in a blaze.
In this, I rise and dissipate
Like smoke signals reaching to touch a moonlit sky,
Even on nights where we walk solo.
Split realities that rip into one another
When paths cross
Cannot make a home of each other—
I am an earthquake and you are a tsunami,
And our chaotic love notes are best left
As dust and mist
That will fade back into the core of us
As the destruction left in our wake
Becomes nothing but a fading memory.
