The Russian Cartel (Chapter One)
FBI HEADQUARTERS
Criminal, Cyber, Response, and Services Branch Department
New York, New York
Early Morning Briefing
“Okay ladies and gentlemen, I need everyone to listen up and pay close attention, this briefing will get underway momentarily.”
Marcus lifted his laser pointer.
“Director Modarius, this is the second briefing within a week.”
Marcus placed his laser pointer back down on the podium; he rested his forearms on the wooden stand and leaned his upper torso forward.
“Ladies and gentlemen, as FBI Federal Agents who work under my jurisdiction. We are going to go over this Drug Lord pyramid of possible Cartels who may have or have had a direct interaction with the Russian Drug Cartel, Dmeshii.”
“Director Marcus, your undercover operation in Belarus took out Dmeshii, the head Cartel and several of his men. It has been quiet on the streets; the overdose fatalities have dropped tremendously.”
“Agent Carrey, I am aware of the history, however, until we find out how large shipments of Heroin are crossing our borders, illegally, and then hitting the streets at an alarming rate. These briefings will continue in duration, and more suspect names will be supplemented. As we speak, I have the mayor breathing down this agency’s neck with questions that I do not have the answers too.”
“Director Modarius, I’ve heard from talking to some of our informants; there has been a drought of any illegal drug supplying on the streets.”
“Agent Angelo, yes, that may have been so. In as much, as of a month ago, the DEA and the ATF, has confirmed their agency had seized several shipments of drugs and firearms coming through the Port Authority, It appears, someone inside has aided the transactions, and the results from the escaped shipments we do not confiscate, it has become a burden to the state of New York, and the surrounding boroughs.”
“Surely Director Modarius, you do not think this overflowing of drugs to the streets is the work of the Russian Cartel.”
“The DEA and the FBI has come to the conclusion this is not the work of the Mexican Drug Lords. The strength of the Heroin uncut is powerful, and that is before it has been cut with Fentanyl. The Mexican’s dope is strong, but not to the degree what has recently hit the streets.”
“Director Modarius, I stake my life it’s the Mexican Drug Lords.”
“Agent Sari, that is our task to find at the what’s, the when’s, and the who is behind these confiscated shipments.”
Marcus straightened his posture. He lifted his wrist and looked down at his swatch. He knew he had dinner reservations this evening with Zaniyah. He then looked out at his seated FBI Agents under his superiority.
“Okay ladies and gentlemen, I need everyone to listen up and pay close attention.
“Agent Carrey, I need you to kill the lights.”
“Yeah.”
Agent Carrey scooted his chair back and rose. He walked across the briefing room and flipped the light switch downward. He returned to his seat and sat; he scooted his chair back under the elongated white marble table.
Marcus turned his power point projector on. He lifted his laser pointer and then pivoted to look at the white projector screen. He turned his attention back to his FBI Agents.
“I will need everyone to refrain from asking any questions until this briefing has concluded.”
