A Single Flame

Heat and light
 
a solitary warrior fighting in a world as dark as night
 
Battling the cold wind
 
and the temptation of sin
 
Seeking to manifest my destiny

while being true to my own identity
  
Sharing the blessings of spirituality
 
and  avoiding the evil of banality
 
A character in search of his Author
 
who didn't come here by a flying saucer
 
Sharing my  poetic insight in spite of an occasional drought  
 
until the day my single flame is snuffed out
