right from the start
we found ourselves in an ocean
of love
nearly drowning
because no one had taught us
how to swim
and such a vast body of water
filled our hearts
with fear
until we figured out
how to brave the
sweet waves
of you and me

Fantastic metaphor for love and life really. Drowning. Feels like that sometimes. And without a manual on how to get through it one literally sinks or swims in order to get through. Your closing stanza is wonderful. Reflecting the strength of the human soul and desire to succeed and love. Great write. H🌷
