Happiness Train
I am waiting for a train.
I am wearing a light blue,
striped, cotton dress.
My suitcases at my side.
I have got a one way ticket
to Happiness.
It is supposed to dock at
a quarter till three.
While I wait, my thoughts
can keep me company.
There is a buzz of busyness,
people hopping in and out of town.
This town, a place I once loved,
holds bad memories now.
Every corner, every street, and shop
brings thoughts that take me down.
So low for so long, I could hardly recall
what happiness was.
Then one evening on my way home from the
daily grind, I saw it.
A sign. It said, "New route to Happiness
at Depot station! Paradise Awaits!"
And there was the answer, from my hum.
and from my drum.
I was not going to wait for change anymore.
So I got a one way ticket to Happiness;
far away from you, Sad and Down.
I felt the need for this long time ago.
But I was afraid. Not any more though!
I am, will be, anew and free from your haunts.
you
You
YOU!
I promised I wouldn't think of YOU!
Thank goodness Happiness will get you off my
mind soon.
You had me hooked like no ever has.
Getting over you was . . . No, it is,
the hardest test I am trying to pass.
We fell for each other like rocks
into the sea, to the bottom hard and fast.
But somehow, slowly,
you were able to float.
You left me there at the bottom, alone.
I had to figure out where to go.
No matter though, I managed to get
to the surface again.
Now I just have to get back on land.
I am tired of being out at sea; the
constant waves, waves, waves, waves
are making me nauseous.
So here I am, in a light blue striped dress.
My suitcases at my side.
I have got a one way ticket
to Happiness.
Or at least, that is what I am hoping for
on this soon to be long train ride.
I am wearing a light blue,
striped, cotton dress.
My suitcases at my side.
I have got a one way ticket
