Spanish, French and Catalonian language lesson

I had French all thru school ... placed out of my language requirement for college and my doctorate ... I had to read a lot of French poetry ... mostly Baudelaire ...

Not a huge French fan here. ))) Although I do have some French favourites. I adore Baudelaire, Victor Hugo, Valéry and Camus. I very much prefer Russian.

Spanish is my native language due in part I was born in Santo Domingo, I do not speak Spanish quite as fluently as I do French from living in France for many years, or Haitian/French Creole, from living in the Republic of Dominican before coming to the states ..and my relatives speak Louisiana Creole, the dialect sounds lazy in pronunciation that is the best way I can describe it.  Catalan, that is simply impressive my poet

Wow! where did you live in France? I am actually not a huge French fan, but yea there's a wide range of dialects of both French and Spanish. Catalan is in between French and Spanish, although it is not similar to either but takes inspiration from both regions.

I resided in Toulouse from two until I believe I was seven with my father's snobbish mulatto relatives then Marseille with my mother’s French Creole relatives, so many languages flooded my intellect from Spanish, French, to broken English, you would not believe it, then I came under my grann's guardianship in Haiti who speaks Haitian Creole/French Creole, and something else I could not quite understand, until the age of seventeen after being homeschooled, then I came to the states on a student visa and as they say the rest is history
