Distant Embrace

 
hovering over
a valley on Mars
serenely
contemplating the stars

moving together
as two points of light
orbiting 'round
each other in flight

spinning around
while flying in space
touching and feeling
the void as we race

far beyond
the Sun's domain
to Proxima planet's
afternoon rain

by a warm ocean
red sun in sky
a gentle breeze
seeming to sigh

as we enjoy
the sun going down
two bright stars
in the sky are found

in the sky too
the Sun still shines
a powerful star
that always entwines

us in its
distant embrace
as two points of light
back to Earth we then race
