why are you still dancing?
when the scent of
Jasmine has grown
silent
why are you still dancing?
is it to escape the wild dogs
of thought racing
through your
mind?
why are you still dancing?
while your heart is overcome
by the tears of rust like old
cars, forgotten,
neglected in a
junkyard
why are you still dancing?
the music has stopped,
everyone has gone
home to gather
the dust of
loneliness
from their
dreams
why are you still dancing?
the ball has ended, the lights
off, the doors locked and
the night sky
smells of
memory
why are you still dancing...
when the gates are closed
tight, the earth is weary
and wants to close her
eyes and ceaselessly
sleep

It certainly feels like that a lot, these days especially. And sometimes watching it all go downhill makes it really hard to convince myself life is still worth living. But it has to be, no matter what.
