Narcissus

Scratching my way to freedom
I found a respite from your cruelty
Hurling my tearful doldrums
Into outerspace

The hornet has its nest
And a hole will hide the scorpion
But you, my lovely serpent
Can't find a home in either place

A bitter, salty powder
Made from cried out dirges
Time to genuflect
Upon your righteous kill

What keeps a donor needing
A seeker constantly seeking
In lonely, broken mirrors
For one more soul to to steal?

The titan,  breathless and pale
Slinking from his weapons
A mass of mass destruction
Insolent and mean

This is the user's duty
To morph beastly and beauty
Waves of desolate desire
Upon a dead and dying sea.
