How the vanity convinced us otherwise
and the lamp will keep this quill damp.
although I know to start with the translation,
of these numbers in their boxes.
and I wonder if the hunger
is enough. To crave this knowledge,
is that enough?
will the ability I desire come,
from the suckling of my mind,
against this book I call God. This book that is-
My Bible.

This poem was very tricky to pick through. I'm still not sure exactly of your message, and that's ok with me. What I do see is the theme of knowledge vs. religion which I believe is less that and more knowledge vs. social implications on religion. Quite a touchy subject. I think that no knowledge is against God and no knowledge is against the Bible (only those who intepret it as such). Thanks, this was great!

These are my first real attempts at poetry and I'm still stumbling through the forest of coherency. I just have these words and images that I'm not sure how to put down.

Like I said, understanding is less important to me than it is to some people. To be able to be moved by a poem simply by the power of it's images is wonderful. Still a great piece!
