WATERBEARS
Great lava lake
A happy place
Transform ourselves
To tardigrades
Imagined claws
The truth suspends
Giving pause
Intrepid friends
Survive and thrive
A dream for sure
Get too close
We will be burned
No microscopic fortitude
Soft bags of flesh
With attitude
Filled with water
Bear our souls
Steer us clear
Of all black holes
A happy place
Transform ourselves
To tardigrades
Imagined claws
The truth suspends
Giving pause
Intrepid friends
Survive and thrive
A dream for sure
Get too close
We will be burned
No microscopic fortitude
Soft bags of flesh
With attitude
Filled with water
Bear our souls
Steer us clear
Of all black holes

Wonderful insight to a

tiny
existence!
Your spill had me thinking about a DUP member - Tardegrade - for some reason.
Nevertheless,
very intriguing spill - well done

I LOVE the scientific nature of this combined with excellent imagery and human metaphor. I know what process you are following, and would recommend you share with us in your author's note who this inspiration was from.

Oh, I love this! Your method for this NaPo is awesome; some of my favourite writes were inspired by my kids.
(It also hearkened me back to the Star Trek episode where the crystalline creature calls the crew "giant ugly bags of mostly water".... LOL!)

The metaphor in this one is superb! Tardigrade's are so incredibly cute. I love that they are referred to as water bears. Fantastic piece!
