Feelings On A Shelf
I put my feelings on a shelf
To save for another day
I try and try to ignore them
I just wish they’d go away
I am not supposed to have them now
They are not happily received
I want to move beyond them if someone could tell me how
But I am left alone to deal with them
My aching heart won’t move on
Sometimes I want to burn them down
