The Universe
is water-fall(ing)
into the infinite
expanse of heart;
its veinous viaducts
mirroring humans
repeatedly returning
—depleted of oxygen—
to a Universal Source
always willing to gift
our next breath

Beautiful imagery and so much truth. We are the universe and the universe is us.

Beautiful poem Tam...though I always see the Universe as Laozi wrote in chapter 5 of the Tao Te Ching....the universe treats us all as straw dogs...I'm lucky though, I live in a first world country like Australia, we even bring our fruit and vegie pickers in from places like Tonga and Fiji...our own little slaves LOL.
Peace be with you my friend...Harry

Compact, yet speaks volumes. Each volume in the sense of time but more importantly space being filled up with the story of numerous personality essences ( us ) of Source sustained by Source itself.
Lungs expanding with air. Volume. Heart chambers filled with blood. Volume.
There's an association ( for me ) with the volume involved with molds, where liquified substance poured in hardens into a more of a solid, undergoing a (trans)formation process. Sort of like blood coagulating in a chamber. Or perhaps the syrupy stuff that goes into the creation of gummi worms LOL
Value fulfillment. Volume fulfillment. The same thing.

Dear A,
Your poem reminded me how the universe keeps going despite how often we try to ruin it. You’d think it would get tired but it doesn’t. It just shows us more beauty. Lovely write. H🌷

I don’t like the little marks and squiggles added to this, if I’m honest, from the hyphen and brackets in “water falling” to the parentheses in verse two and the tilde underneath it. They clutter up and uglify the text. That’s just my opinion, though, and my personal dislike doesn’t detract from how much I love this poem otherwise. It presents a beautiful image of spiritual replenishment, depicting the universe in both a deistic and nature-focused light, if that makes sense.

Amazing. I felt like this was wrapped in a little box and just left at my door step. A small gift from the universe.
