The rush of adrenaline when I again see your face
Warming my heart on a cold winter's day
Feelings and words that must remain unspoken
To avoid more hearts being broken

I am sorry. The disappointment and heartbreak of being “friended” is awful for lack of a better adjective. Having lived a similar situation, sadly more than once, I have never received any words that made me feel better upon reflection. After reading your wonderful poem I wished I’d had this years ago. Your last two lines are so loving and conscious and careful not hurt others. A gift of compassion I wish I had. Great write. H🌷

Love the last line. But, broken hearts seems inevitable in love. Keep writing.

Adrenaline - a great word describing that new or potential love feeling. Friend zone - Like accelerating to get on the highway and boom you are out of gas, and need to pull off to the side.

Ooh, many of us can relate to this. It's a difficult spot to be in knowing in your heart things could have been beautiful and yet the other person didn't feel the same.
