THE OTHERS FIRST
THE OTHERS FIRST
Woe to him who saves himself
ere he saves those around him.
He will face his self remorse
which is harder than hell's grief.
Love those who are around you
more than loving your dear self.
They are humans and they have
what you fear and what you crave.
You are asked to give the poor.
Is salvation not a gift?
Which is dearer, loaves of bread,
or an act that saves their lives?
Don't be selfish, my dear man.
Your mirror is people's face.
How can balm reach your own soul
if their tears from their chins drip.
