Standing in the shadows    
   
Nothing appears to be important    
Except you, You're all that is....    
Stop hampering these ill feellings    
Let me cure it with a kiss    
You generate so much interest    
But by all the wrong men    
And my heart gets all fucked up    
As I watch you cry again.    
   
I'm here standing in the shadows    
Trying hard to ignite your light    
And I never will stop trying    
Please dont put up such a tough fight    
For every time your hurting    
I feel my heart get crushed    
But it continues to beat on strong for you    
For my heart is strong and robust    
   
As day turns into night time    
And were both alone in our homes    
My mind never ceases to think about you    
Which plays havoc with my hormones    
I cant bear to watch you get hurt again    
But I'm ready to pick up the pieces    
When "he" shatters your golden heart    
And leaves you with all his excuses.    
   
But I wont let you see me crying    
As I stand by and watch your heart break    
Even although inside I'm dying    
For your love I would not forsake    
You may think that I have not noticed    
Every smile that illuminates your face    
Every twitch you make with your eyes    
As you look down as you do with grace.    
   
You might think that I've not seen    
As you wrap your finger round another finger    
Your mind is often thoughtful    
And your moods they often linger    
I know you more than I care to share    
I dont want you to go without    
Your my very first thought in the morning    
And my last every night without doubt.    
   
But me; I must stand in the shadows    
As I watch you wrap your arms around "him"    
I long to feel the warmth of your love    
But I know that I'm out on a limb...    
So patiently and silently I wait    
For I'm a coward to tell you how I feel    
But the only thing you really need to know    
Is that my love for you is real...
