Womanhood Gang

Up again, time to put on my crown,
Carry it like a lady, chin up... to make my momma proud,
Dust off my shoulders, since I’ve been initiated,
Into womanhood, though at times I wanna escape it.
I’m tired of wearing bras,
I don’t care if my tits sag,
I tell you, this womanhood gang can really be a drag...
Cramps and periods,
Going through it for the week,
Body issues & having to watch what you eat,
Waxing and plucking all the “extra” hairs,
Bums flocking, tryna get in your underwear.
Other women competing, running some weird race,
Stepping on each other’s toes, then smiling in each other’s face.
Gotta keep three eyes open, and not be blind,
Ten toes down always, or risk falling behind,
Paying the bills alone, yet try not to complain,
These are the some struggles of this Womanhood gang.
Being Us ain’t something easy,
I’d be remiss not to let you guys know,
A man could NEVER do this,
That much we all know...
