The battle to remain in the here and now is ever ongoing. I think part of the secret is forgivening one's self of either imaginated or actual past misdeeds ( everyone has a couple hiding someplace).

While it shouldn’t be such a challenge to focus and stay in the present the amount of time I give over to worrying about things over which I have no control is laughably shameful. New year approaches I’m going to try remain in the present. Great write. H🌷

The past is called the past for good reason.
It's gone. It is no more than a mist. The here and now (although not always to our liking) is the reality we are left with.
